Walking out from the Brecon Mountain Centre north-east over the open country. Frozen lakes, stone walls curious sheep and low clouds. This photoset was shot just before dark.
I drove the car down through the Brecon Beacons to Ystradfellte and parked the car in snowy carpark. The walk took about 4 hours and I managed to see the 4 main waterfalls along the river Mellte. The walk involved; seeing no one the whole time (peace!). Falling down and really hurting my wrist and feeling silly in front of no one. Failing to bring enough water for such an epic hilly walk and contemplating drinking from the falls and making a short film along the way which you can view HERE in HD. Here’s a map of the area. I also discovered some interesting information on Wiki about famous residents in Ystradfellte… Bizarre!
A trip to the London Wetlands Centre. With no telephoto lens with me, it was a bit pointless trying to photograph the hundreds of variety of bird here, so instead, I turned my camera to the plants and trees. Getting close as possible and underneath the subjects to make use of the clear blue sky that day.
A quick set here. A frog was sat waiting for me at the studio door when I came into work this morning. I figured that it will eventually just make a bolt for the road and be squashed. So, in a fair exchange, I took some photos of it for safe passage to the churchyard field around the back of the building. I shot through these very quickly as I didn’t want to stress it out. But it was pretty calm, with only minimal hopping.
The delayed first post for my new photography blog. Going deeper into a single subject on each post. You can click on an image here and then use the left and right arrows on your keyboard to move through the larger images or click the left/right arrows.
This image set is a study of Sarnau Forest in Brecon, Wales. I spent a few hours walking and exploring the forest in the mist. In the distance I heard hunters getting closer and closer until I could actually hear what they were saying in between gunshots and grouse calls. As I was wearing grouse coloured clothing, I had to run away (I actually ran) to explore the top section of the forest away from danger. There I found a valley and stream and soft mossy ground to tread around in.
The forest is situated about 885ft above sea level. There is a map here: http://bit.ly/gEn9Xj
I also photographed a short film whilst here which you can watch here in HD: http://youtu.be/Bn66AyYFtqE?hd=1
More photo sets coming soon… enjoy
