28-09-2010 Ocarina

September 29th, 2010

My new giant Ocarina given to me kindly for helping out with a wedding. Good exchange. It’s about 9″ across! Shot on a 30 second exposure in pitch black, then painted with my torch over the 30 secs.

20-08-2010 Glowing Apple

August 20th, 2010

Apple shot in the studio with Tungsten. One spotlight from behind on full and one snoot to the front right on low power. I hollowed out the back of the apple to get it translucent and glowing. Friday has come at last!

A close up, long exposure of one of the big fountains in Trafalgar Square. Lit with ambient light only and and exposure of 30 seconds I think.

15-07-2010 Common Bus Stop

July 20th, 2010

Walking home on Thursday night I took my chance to photograph this stop as no one was around. There were a couple of exposures where the stop was actually in focus. But for some reason, the slight forward focus made it entirely better looking. Had some drinks at the Sir Richard Steele near Chalk Farm. [...]

Bokeh from the street lights in Wimborne and an earwig crawling across the top of these flowers.

The end of a good weekend. Ended in curry & Ghostbusters (possibly the greatest film ever made). I had a go at photographing my garden around 11pm. Still loads of independence day fireworks going off around here. Welcome to Earth.

Marcia & Dave’s lovely house next door to Slop Bog in Ferndown. Taken just before midnight. A 30 second exposure with a 28mm Lens.

15-06-2010 Mushroom

June 15th, 2010

MUSHABOOM! This mushroom was shot in the studio with a 50mm lens & macro tube. It was shot on black felt with a window light from above. Then I held a black gobo above the mushroom until I got the shadows / highlights that I wanted. It was exposed for 10 secs at f22.

This was shot in Shad Thames near my flat. It’s a view towards the Thames looking down St. George’s Wharf. Dickens Country. Things are so busy at the moment! Wooo!

08-02-2010 Light Trail in Park

February 8th, 2010

Phew! Finally caught up with uploading after being in the Welsh WiFi wastelands all weekend. This image was shot in the park next to my flat. The light trail was drawn with the ‘ready’ light on my flash gun and I lit myself with a quick flash in this 30 Second exposure.

23-01-2010 Hotel Room Exposure

January 23rd, 2010

I went to Brighton for the night for a sweet get away. The room was called ‘Zen’ and was pretty funny/cool. It had Astroturf flooring, forest wallpaper, a water feature & a log bench in there. This shot was a 30 second exposure at f22 whilst dancing on the bed. I don’t know if knowing [...]

18-01-2010 Light Trails In Car

January 18th, 2010

Before I drove home tonight, I used gaffer tape to fix my camera through the back of the passenger headrest and fed the cable release down by the gear stick. Then I was able to shoot on the way home. Got some 70 shots that I may make into a shot animation later. Now, out [...]

05-01-2010 Bourne Hall Pond

January 5th, 2010

Today’s photo was taken by the road side at Bourne Hall pond in Ewell whilst I was on the way to the train. It’s freezing out there! Lots of snow around the country today. Hopefully headed for London tonight. I want a repeat of last February please, snow god. With any luck, tomorrow’s photo is [...]
