Hello, It’s me again…. Testing out my new camera in the studio. It’s such a difference from the 1D. This photo is straight out of Camera RAW.
One month left for this photo project! This is a self portrait of me at home, sitting oddly. Lit with single flash gun off to the side.
Playing a bit of power-melodica. The worlds most special instrument. HOOOoOONNNNNKKKK!!!!
Another Self Portrait, non surprisingly, I need to photograph some friends I think. Although, it’s all good practice. It’s interesting using only one flash too.
A self portrait taken on the front steps to my flat. The Mamiyaflex was placed on the ground inside the front door, with my Canon on a tripod angled down and focused on the plate. (with a skateboard tied to it to weigh it down as I was using a useless Jessops tripod). I set [...]
Portrait shot hand held with on-camera flash and a slow shutter speed. Taken at Battersea Park near the Pagoda at sunset.
A studio shot of a piece of white coral. Shot with macro lens on red perspex and one flash light.
Sorry for everyone who checks the blog regularly, having to see my gormless face two days in a row. But I’ve been having fun playing with some lighting styles the last couple of days, which has been interesting. This one was shot with two low flash heads on low power (1 slightly higher) bounced off [...]
My chief tomato plant shot from the ground up. I used my flash bounced off the wall to light the plant, and balanced it to correctly expose the dusk sky.
I just spent half an hour out in the garden photographing lifeless snails and I found this brave guy. He didn’t shy away or even put his horns in when I picked him up and he was doing all sorts of stunts. He took a bite from a spider though, which I don’t think was [...]
This is a close up of a single-shot flash gun with it’s shutter iris opened out. Sadly there are no flash bulbs to try it out. I would like to give them a go. Imagine having to; screw in a bulb, take the shot, unscrew the bulb, put it in your burnt bulb sack, grab [...]
A Double flash exposure portrait today. The camera was set to bulb and the flashes fired remotely. I like how my arm has become correctly exposed. Happy Birthday to my Dad Today!
I took this image of some Catkins this morning as the sun was rising. I love how many there are in one image. For this shot I under exposed the sky, then set the flash balance manually to light the Catkins. I am exhausted from driving to Bournemouth, then instantly getting on the train straight [...]
Phew! Finally caught up with uploading after being in the Welsh WiFi wastelands all weekend. This image was shot in the park next to my flat. The light trail was drawn with the ‘ready’ light on my flash gun and I lit myself with a quick flash in this 30 Second exposure.
