23-10-2010 Richmond Hill

October 25th, 2010

A shot from the top of Richmond Hill on Saturday. We all enjoyed swigging from a bottle of (appley) Champagne and watching the sun go down. Good luck to Rich and Pippa in the Peak District.

22-10-2010 Common Tree

October 23rd, 2010

I almost fell asleep whilst lying down, drunkenly photographing this tree on the Common last night after having some delicious American ales at the Draught House in Clapham.

05-09-2010 Old Snooker Hall

September 6th, 2010

Right by my house there is a closed down Snooker Hall. The building it used to be in is dilapidated but grand. I don’t know what the building was originally and I can’t seem to find out online. Answers on postcards….

A photograph of London’s oldest structure. (almost 3500 years old) First erected in 1450 BC Heliopolis, Egypt. It was given as a gift to the UK to celebrate Lord Nelson’s battle victories on the Nile. Not sure what New York did to deserve the twin obelisk though. The scaffold has just come down off the [...]

The end of a good weekend. Ended in curry & Ghostbusters (possibly the greatest film ever made). I had a go at photographing my garden around 11pm. Still loads of independence day fireworks going off around here. Welcome to Earth.

Big stormy clouds over Clapham Common yesterday evening. I managed to get a hand-held HDR image of the bandstand on the common. Half way for this photo a day site tomorrow. 6 months in!

23-06-2010 Speed Camera

June 23rd, 2010

I was walking back to the studio after a walk in the woods this afternoon when I found myself under this Gatzo speed camera. The clouds looked so good when I looked up that I got a few shots of it’s strong shape against the sky. I’ve given it a grainy, vignetted pinhole-esque type style [...]

This was shot outside of my flat against a cloudy sky. That 50mm f1.4 lens really makes things look almost pinhole. Crazy DOF, haven’t used Canon’s 50mm f1.1 Lens, I wonder what that is like. 1mm plane of focus probably. Sorry, these are ramblings of a madman. I’ve been on the computer too long today. [...]

This is a faux-Infrared shot of Salisbury Plain. I took the shot whilst waiting in the Stonehenge Traffic. (Got to wait for everyone to get a good glimpse of it). The Sky was looking pretty moody on Monday.

An image looking down at Bedruthen Steps on the North Coast of Cornwall. Quite an amazing place. Try to be the first down to the beach when the tide goes out and you have an epic landscape all to yourself to explore, with caves that lead to another amazing cove that is so grand that [...]

A Grainy Black and White image of the rocks leading on to Perranporth Beach in Cornwall. Great weekend. Apart from not being able to get my surfboard out the board bag because the zipper was jammed with salt crust and wax. (and hour and a half later it was free after going at it with [...]

14-05-2010 Puff Clouds

May 15th, 2010

Lying on the hot flat roof at work watching puffy clouds float past. Summer is coming! Thurston Moore is playing a free show at the Tate Modern tonight… sweet!

21-04-2010 Storm Clouds

May 5th, 2010

The 4 o’clock storms rolled in most days in Mexico. They look so dramatic, and make your hairs stand up.

I went to Wandsworth beer festival last night, hence the late upload. It was in Le Gothique, a building built in 1857. A really interesting place. It’s a shame I had so much ale that I wasn’t much up to any architecture photography. Still, the clouds we moving over the courtyard and the stars were [...]
