Another plant based shot today. I cut a tiny leaf from outside the studio shot it with a macro lens. Two flashes hand hand held. I think the lens was about 2cm away from the leaf when I shot it, if that. I like the veins running around. Chlorophylltastic!

Today’s image is a still from the Video I made on a walk in Battersea Park this evening. I took 1730 still images and edited them together to make this 3 minute film. Take a look at it on Vimeo here. Shot on my Canon EOS 1D with a 50mm lens. It was a pretty [...]

A still life today. This was shot using the available light down in the basement of my building. This was shot handheld at f1.4 with a 50mm lens at a 50th. Everyone is moving out of the flat. Sad times… This also means the stress of moving… Boo.

So, we have this creepy statue in the centre of our courtyard at our flat. It has two metal children running away from a 17ft tree. It’s quite horrible. I thought that it needed sharing. Here’s a shot of the blue child’s anguish. I’m feeling better. Off on a stag party tomorrow!

Bit of a strange one today. I’ve spent another day in bed. Oh dear. Feeling better now though. I’m necking pints of Tropicana. I found this onion in the veg basket. It’s pretty far forward. It’s not actually floating. I spiked it with some scissors and brushed them away afterwards. Here’s hoping I feel okay [...]

My illness got worse. Been in bed all day. Getting worse. Ow! I managed to leave the house to gather food at 8pm and got this shot by dropping the camera at the foot of the tree and focusing the lens at 3m. It was an 8 second exposure I think.

I’m ill so I couldn’t go out to shoot anywhere, so I took this in my bathroom using the halogen ceiling light. Shot on my Canon 1D with a 50mm lens at f.1.4. Hope I feel better tomorrow, it’s getting boring. Almost got a new flat too.

Back in Bournemouth today. I went for a walk to Boscombe from Bournemouth and the weather got pretty weird. It got freezing, started snowing, raining and sleeting. Then the cloud moved over the channel as the sun was setting, so it made a pretty cool scene. Got a few nice photos which i’ll post on [...]

Took a walk around Bourne Hall pond this morning at 8am, it was nice and peaceful… No school kids around; got to love half term. I had lots of shots of this friendly swan in focus. But I liked the way it’s recognisable from just the blur.

Today I made the discovery of a footpath under the Thames! The circular building in by the Cutty Sark in Greenwich that I always thought was a public toilet is actually a foot tunnel under the river. It’s pretty strange down there. The lift at the Isle of Dogs end has to be seen to [...]

On a walk along the Southbank, I popped in the Tate Modern to have another look at Miroslaw Balka’s How it Is installation. It’s a giant steal container on telescopic dampers. I say telescopic dampers, I really mean ‘rigid stays’. When your inside, It gives you a sensation that it goes on forever and that [...]

On leaving the studio today there was a pretty amazing sunset; and being every photographers guilty pleasure, I had to take a shot of it. So I climbed up onto the roof and shot with a 300mm lens through the tops of the conifers. I’ll try not to do many more sunsets in the remaining [...]

This is a shot of fog rolling in over the Wye Valley on Sunday morning. This happened when we decided to walk back from the pub on Saturday night too. Pitch black, 1 torch for 4 people, Muddy and cold. Luckily made our way back using Google Maps on the iPhone. An Awesome weekend!

This image was taken on a walk through the Wye Valley in Wales on Saturday. 30 dogs just ran past and I managed to get a few shots in. I don’t think I have ever seen that many dogs in one place. Can’t say that it seems a fair match though. 30 Dogs on one [...]

This shot was taken from the north bank of the Thames, underneath Waterloo Bridge. Another black and white one today; the contrast worked better with this structural shot. Just about to drive to Hay On Wye in Wales for the weekend (long way!) So, depending on internet connection, my next photos may be either an [...]
