18-11-2010 Melodica Rock!

November 18th, 2010

Playing a bit of power-melodica. The worlds most special instrument. HOOOoOONNNNNKKKK!!!!

13-06-2010 Matching Doors

June 14th, 2010

Found these strange, identical doorways around the back of the cafe on Clapham Common after a walk around the Northcote Road Carnival, at which I ate a giant sandwich of goats cheese.

This was shot outside of my flat against a cloudy sky. That 50mm f1.4 lens really makes things look almost pinhole. Crazy DOF, haven’t used Canon’s 50mm f1.1 Lens, I wonder what that is like. 1mm plane of focus probably. Sorry, these are ramblings of a madman. I’ve been on the computer too long today. [...]

Here’s a shot of Mike in a pub in Kentish Town before we went to see the Jonsi show. Great rear projection used at the gig. Really great stage show.

26-03-2010 Daffodils

March 26th, 2010

I photographed these daffodils on Clapham Common on the walk home. I love the 50mm lens. Can’t wait to get a SLR with HD video so I can film with it. This exposure was a couple of seconds, balanced to tungsten.

14-03-2010 Giant Flower

March 14th, 2010

This was shot lying on the ground looking up at the flower with a 50mm lens to get the blue sky backdrop. The flower is amazing, probably 11″ inches across. I’m all moved into the new flat, but so exhausted. Just drove back from Bournemouth doing the mother’s day rounds. Hi Mum!

10-03-2010 Oranges

March 10th, 2010

A still life today. This was shot using the available light down in the basement of my building. This was shot handheld at f1.4 with a 50mm lens at a 50th. Everyone is moving out of the flat. Sad times… This also means the stress of moving… Boo.

25-02-2010 Metal Child

February 25th, 2010

So, we have this creepy statue in the centre of our courtyard at our flat. It has two metal children running away from a 17ft tree. It’s quite horrible. I thought that it needed sharing. Here’s a shot of the blue child’s anguish. I’m feeling better. Off on a stag party tomorrow!

24-02-2010 Flying Onion

February 24th, 2010

Bit of a strange one today. I’ve spent another day in bed. Oh dear. Feeling better now though. I’m necking pints of Tropicana. I found this onion in the veg basket. It’s pretty far forward. It’s not actually floating. I spiked it with some scissors and brushed them away afterwards. Here’s hoping I feel okay [...]

23-02-2010 Under Tree

February 23rd, 2010

My illness got worse. Been in  bed all day. Getting worse. Ow! I managed to leave the house to gather food at 8pm and got this shot by dropping the camera at the foot of the tree and focusing the lens at 3m. It was an 8 second exposure I think.

22-02-2010 Peacock Feather

February 22nd, 2010

I’m ill so I couldn’t go out to shoot anywhere, so I took this in my bathroom using the halogen ceiling light. Shot on my Canon 1D with a 50mm lens at f.1.4. Hope I feel better tomorrow, it’s getting boring. Almost got a new flat too.

Back in Bournemouth today. I went for a walk to Boscombe from Bournemouth and the weather got pretty weird. It got freezing, started snowing, raining and sleeting. Then the cloud moved over the channel as the sun was setting, so it made a pretty cool scene. Got a few nice photos which i’ll post on [...]

18-02-2010 Blurred Swan

February 18th, 2010

Took a walk around Bourne Hall pond this morning at 8am, it was nice and peaceful… No school kids around; got to love half term. I had lots of shots of this friendly swan in focus. But I liked the way it’s recognisable from just the blur.

17-02-2010 Catkins

February 17th, 2010

I took this image of some Catkins this morning as the sun was rising. I love how many there are in one image. For this shot I under exposed the sky, then set the flash balance manually to light the Catkins. I am exhausted from driving to Bournemouth, then instantly getting on the train straight [...]

31-01-2010 Tree on Bridge

January 31st, 2010

I had a walk through St. James’ Park today, I got attacked by a squirrel, but it was pretty nice. On my way back home, I noticed this tree growing out from in between the concrete and steel of the railway on Hungerford Bridge near the Southbank. Good on the tree. I’ve been doing this [...]
